Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the WorldWithin app and website. WorldWithin is operated by The Dream Company UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Niederbarnimstraße 14, 10247 Berlin, Germany (see the Impressum). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

The service

WorldWithin is a dream journal with an AI guide, Aria, who helps you remember and explore your dreams. You can write or dictate entries, keep a streak, talk to Aria about your dreams, generate images from them, and share your logging streak with friends in a Dream Circle. We keep improving the app, which means features can change, be added, or be removed. We work hard to keep your journal safe and available; we cannot promise uninterrupted service, so you should not treat any app as the only copy of something irreplaceable.

Aria is an AI, not a person, and not a doctor

Aria’s replies are generated by an AI model. They can be incomplete, mistaken, or simply not fit you, and they reflect patterns in your own writing rather than any objective truth about your dreams. Her observations are for reflection and enjoyment. They are not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice and are not a substitute for professional help. If you are struggling with sleep, nightmares, or your mental health, please talk to a qualified professional or, in an emergency, your local emergency number.

Your content

Your dreams are yours. You keep all rights to what you write, record, and generate in WorldWithin. You grant us the limited, revocable permission needed to store your entries, sync them between your devices, and process them with the providers named in the Privacy Policy so the app can do what it promises. We do not use your content for advertising or for training AI models. Images generated from your dreams are yours to keep and share; they are produced by an AI model and may resemble other generated images.

Your account

You need to be at least 16 years old to use WorldWithin. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself; you are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time from Profile in the app, which permanently removes your journal from our servers.

If you used the earlier WorldWithin app (the lucid dreaming app published under the same name from 2021), your account and journal are carried over by matching the Apple or Google sign-in you used there. Sign in with the same method to find your dreams.

Dream Circles and fair use

Circles share only your logging activity, never your entries, as described in the Privacy Policy. Choose a display name and photo that do not impersonate or harass anyone. Do not abuse the service: no attempts to break, probe, or overload it, no reverse engineering beyond what the law allows, no automated scraping, no using Aria to generate content that is illegal or harms others, and no reselling access. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

WorldWithin Plus

The core journal is free. Some features are part of WorldWithin Plus, an auto-renewing subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The exact features, price, billing period, and any free trial are shown in the app before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps Plus active until the end of the period already paid. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules; we cannot issue them directly.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. Because Plus is digital content that starts immediately, you agree, when you confirm the purchase in the store, that we begin delivering it right away and that you lose the right of withdrawal once delivery has started. Apple and Google apply their own refund windows on top of this.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, WorldWithin is provided as is. We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body, or health. For ordinary negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual duties (duties whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely), and then only up to the damage that was foreseeable and typical for this kind of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.

Termination

You can stop using WorldWithin and delete your account at any time. We may close accounts that violate these terms, and we may discontinue the service with reasonable notice, in which case we will give you a way to export your journal first.

Governing law, disputes, and changes

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence still apply. The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will note it in the app and update the date above; continued use after that counts as acceptance. Questions go to support@worldwithin.app.
